Build·Measure·Repeat

Infrastructure that proves the market. Intelligence built from doing it.

NURA makes Nigeria investable by supplying what foreign capital needs before it commits: power it can build on, counterparties it can verify, and opportunities it can price.

Map of Africa. NURA has taken a fix on Nigeria, shown magnified: 87 source-verified evidence records. Other countries are not yet covered.

01/The condition

Capital prices the uncertainty, not the asset.

Evidence on Nigerian markets has rarely been assembled, verified or made comparable, and there is no fixed line to measure one transaction against another. Capital responds the way it always does. It arrives short, and it leaves early.

02/Vision

Stable power is the first infrastructure. Everything else waits on it.

Creditworthy demand on Nigeria's national grid makes reinforcement financeable, and a stronger grid carries the industries that follow. Nigeria first, as the proving point. Then Africa, country by country, each horizon earned by proving the last.

  1. 01

    The constraint

Decades of underinvestment, aging networks and unreliable revenue have left Nigeria's power sector needing more than $100 billion to deliver reliable supply.

  2. 02

    The anchor

A data center tenant is among the most creditworthy, round-the-clock loads in the market.

  3. 03

    The choice

Put that load on the national grid, not behind a fence, and it becomes a reason to reinforce the grid.

  4. 04

    The unlock

A stronger grid carries the industries that were waiting on power.

  5. 05

    The template

Each country proven becomes the method, and the evidence, for the next.

03/The flywheel

Every project makes the next one easier to see.

Three companies, one mechanism. Building produces the evidence that is hardest to obtain in Nigeria, verification makes it something a foreign investor can rely on, and intelligence directs capital to the next project. Scroll to turn it.

  1. 01/NURA Infrastructure

    Build

Develop grid-connected data centers at a size Nigeria's grid carries today, with power from North South Power. The first is a 5 MW site on the connected grid, delivered in one of four ways.

  2. 02/Project and credit data

    Capture

Every project produces data that is almost never disclosed in Nigeria: what interconnection actually costs, how long each approval actually takes, what the build cost. It is joined by licensed credit data from our data partner.

  3. 03/NURA Verification

    Verify

NURA Verification turns that data into something a foreign investor can rely on when assessing a Nigerian counterparty.

  4. 04/NURA Intelligence

    Originate

Intelligence directs capital toward verified businesses and projects. What each deal produces flows back, the next site starts larger than the last, and the wheel turns again.

Shared infrastructure, separate judgments

The data and the systems compound across the group. The decisions do not. NURA Intelligence is never paid by a company it covers, NURA Verification never verifies a related party, and projects the group holds an interest in feed the benchmarks but are never self-rated.

04/Infrastructure

Sized to the grid that exists.

Generation has never been Nigeria's only challenge. Larger projects can connect, but only with transmission upgrades built for their load, which take capital and time. NURA starts inside what the system carries today.

  1. National grid

    ~4,500 MW

Nigeria's grid delivers on the order of four to five gigawatts to more than two hundred million people. Every new project either fits within the capacity available at its connection point or brings the upgrades it needs.

  2. Large campus proposal

    60 to 100 MW

Campuses at this scale can be built, but each needs transmission work designed for its load, such as new lines, substation capacity and interconnection, planned and paid for with the project. That adds significant capital and can add years to the schedule.

  3. NURA first site

    5 MW

Five megawatts on an already-connected site uses capacity the system carries today, with no new transmission works. It can proceed now, be measured and be repeated, and later sites grow larger as they fund their own connections and the grid is reinforced.

Seeking anchor tenant

North South Power has committed 5 MW from its 600 MW Shiroro hydroelectric concession, contingent on a signed anchor tenant, so the tenant is the single unlock. The search area is defined on the connected grid, within the Eko distribution franchise in Lagos and Ogun.

The site is delivered in one of four ways, chosen with the anchor customer, on one documented specification, so the second site is a procurement exercise rather than a new project.

06/Verification

Know who you are dealing with.

NURA Verification is being built to help foreign investors and firms rely on what a Nigerian counterparty says about itself. It is in development with FirstCentral Credit Bureau, licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, as data partner.
